In 2016, Tatuaje Cigars presented a 100 count box, called Reserva Broadleaf Collection, at the IPCPR. Said box contained 10 different sizes, all belonging to Tatuaje’s Brown Label line. As the name suggests, Broadleaf tobacco is involved and in this case it’s used as wrapper.
A year later, Tatuaje announced that they would cut down the numbers of 100 count boxes in order to make 10 count boxes of each single size available. Said boxes finally shipped during January of this year. The sample, for this review, comes from a 10 count box.

Tatuaje Havana Cazadores Reserva Broadleaf: cold draw brings leather, earth and black pepper to the palate. Once lit, it opens up with a combination of cocoa, earth and leather.
Getting further into the first third, the dominant flavors are cocoa, earth and leather, with a light black pepper note is present in the background. In some puffs appear notes of coffee and cream. Strength is slightly under the medium level (2,5/5).
In the second third, the mix of cocoa, earth and leather remains in the forefront, with the black pepper note becoming more evident. Coffee and cream can still be tasted in the background, followed by a balsamic flavor and a hint of bitterness. The burn line is a little wonky. Strength is now a solid medium (3/5).
The final third sees the cocoa vanish, while the earth and leather stay as the main flavors. The black pepper has decreased in intensity, while the balsamic note has become more pronounced. There is also a light bitterness present now. Strength stays medium (3/5).
Overall, this Tatuaje Havana Cazadores Reserva Broadleaf presents an intense aromatic palette, Although the flavors are few, they blend well together and the creamy note, in the first two thirds, rounds it out nicely. On the other hand, the lacking complexity makes the cigar feel static in some parts.
