La Aurora announces the annual release of Preferido Double Barrel-Aged Tubos at PCA 2026. This cigar reflects La Aurora’s commitment to aging its filler and binder tobaccos in rum barrels, resulting in richness and complexity.
Each Preferido Double Barrel-Aged cigar undergoes a meticulous aging process, selecting only the finest leaves before rolling them into a double figurado format. They experience a unique second aging in barrels previously used for premium Caribbean rums, allowing them to absorb subtle notes of dark sugar, oak, and spice.

“The tobaccos are transformed, creating a harmonious fusion of flavors that provides creaminess to the smoke,” says Master Blender Manuel Inoa. Featuring a blend of Pennsylvania, Dominican, and Nicaraguan tobaccos, paired with a Pennsylvania Broadleaf binder and Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, each cigar is encased in an iridescent aluminum tube.
This limited annual release includes only 750 boxes, available for shipment in April at an MSRP of $228 per box or $28.50 per cigar.
