HEMMY’S is the creation of Hemmy Garcia, born in Cuba into a family deeply rooted in the tobacco trade. His journey began in Waldshut-Tiengen, training as an industrial clerk at Swiss cigar maker Villiger & Söhne. Fascinated by cigars ever since, he honed his craft across London, Hamburg, and Berlin, culminating in Cuba, where he trained as a cigar roller and quality inspector at Havana’s renowned H. Upmann factory. After returning to Berlin, he launched HEMMY’S premium cigar brand.
The Hemmy’s Linea Secreta (Spanish for secret line) is produced in the Dominican Republic at the Tabacalera ABAM. This mysterious blend comes in five different sizes, including the Montescos, and is packaged in elegant 10-ct boxes.
The cigars are rolled in oily Colorado-colored wrappers that are silky smooth to the touch. Filling is uniform and generous, and they are finished with a pigtail. Construction is perfect.

Hemmy’s Linea Secreta Montescos: The cold draw reveals aromas of peanuts and wood. Once lit, the cigar starts out with ample aromas of cappuccino, peanuts, and cream.
Further into the first third, the cappuccino, peanuts and cream aromas are flanked by wood and very faint nuances of pink pepper. The strength is mild-medium (2/5).
A mineral hint, together with toasted bread nuances, are added to the background of the profile. Herbal aromas appear later on as well. The smoke becomes even creamier while the strength remains unchanged.
The pink pepper changes into a white pepper note in the last third and moves to the foreground next to the cappuccino, herbs, peanuts, and wood. A leather aroma comes through as well. The strength grows to a medium level (3/5). The finale is spicy and satisfying.
Overall, the Hemmy’s Linea Secreta Montescos is a very nuanced, complex, and balanced cigar. The evolution is perceptible throughout the smoke. The contained strength plays in favour of the profile. One thing that is recommended is to retro-hale the smoke as much as possible to really get the full scope of the profile. A thoroughly enjoyable cigar that might be the best-kept secret in recent memory.
