Valentino Siesto Sun Grown Toro 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Valentino Siesto Sun Grown Toro is part of the line with the same name and is one of the four “main lines” of the brand. You can recognize the Sun Grown cigars by the gold ribbon on the foot and the matching color on the main band.

The Dominican brand was established ten years ago by Valentino Siesto, a former jeweler who started producing cigars in collaboration with Juan Gomez, the brand’s master blender. The Sun Grown Toro is made with Dominican filler tobaccos, a Dominican-grown Olor binder, and a sun-grown Ecuadorian wrapper. All cigars in the Sun Grown line are sold in boxes of 20.

The cigar has a shiny Colorado wrapper with brown reflections. It feels silky to the touch with slightly accentuated veins. It has good construction and draw.

Valentino Siesto Sun Grown Toro: hints of wood and earthy nuances are perceptible in the cold draw.

Once lit, the smoke on the palate is sweet but also delicately sapid. It develops very strong notes of wood, followed by less evident hints of earth and leather. The strength is medium (3/5).

In the central part, the sapidity becomes equal to the sweetness, and the smoke seems to be creamier. The evolution involves a restructuring of the aromas: the wood becomes medium in intensity and is accompanied by aromas of black pepper and hazelnut, with balsamic nuances. The strength remains stable (3/5).

In the last third, the flavor profile remains pretty much the same, with an increase in the intensity of the aromas. The strength increases slightly (3.5/5).

Overall, the Valentino Siesto Sun Grown Toro offers a relatively rich, satisfying, and flavorful smoke. The medium strength allows for a good reading of the aromas and makes it possible to enjoy the cigar on an empty stomach. The evolution is also appreciable, even if it is a bit contracted between the second and the last third.
