Villiger has brought two cigars to Germany and Switzerland. The Villiger 1888 San Andrés is a new permanent line. The Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada 2026 is the last of its series. Both are rolled at the company’s own factory, Villiger de Nicaragua in Estelí.

The San Andrés launched in the USA in summer 2026 and is now on sale in Germany and Switzerland. It is the third series in the 1888 family.

The color of the San Andrés line it’s yellow, borrowed from the town of San Andrés Tuxtla in Mexico, where the colour runs across house fronts and doors. Even the cathedral and town hall are painted in it. The yellow band and box contrast with the dark brown San Andrés wrapper.

The blend features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It comes in three sizes:

  • Churchill, 7 x 47 at €14.00 per cigar
  • Robusto, 5 x 50 at €12.50 per cigar
  • Toro, 6 x 50 at €13.30 per cigar

They come in boxes of 20 and packs of three and are produced at the Villiger de Nicaragua factory.

The Limitada started in 2022, when Villiger opened its Estelí factory. It was presented that year as the first limited series made there. Each edition had a different format and a landscape theme, paying tribute to Nicaragua and the people who grow its tobacco.

The blend hasn’t changed. It uses an Ecuador Desflorado wrapper and a Mexican binder. The filler is tobacco from Condega and Jalapa, with one exception: Pennsylvania leaf. The earlier editions were a Gran Toro, a Perfecto, a Churchill, and a Torpedo.

The Gordo (6 x 60) retails for €20 per cigar and comes in a high-gloss lacquered 10-ct box that shows a Nicaraguan beach with palm trees, flowers, and a boat. Germany gets 650 boxes. Another 300 are reserved for Switzerland.
