The Tobacconists’ Association of America was founded in 1968 and traditionally provides member retailers with the tools and opportunities to optimize their business in the tobacco world, which must be marketed in the so-called ‘brick and mortar’ or physical stores. It represents a large group of influential retail stores and cigar lounge owners, associated with a select group of brand owners. Shopkeepers and brand owners work together to market exclusive TAA blends or sizes. A specific TAA vitols (as well as a blend) will not be identifiable but it will be possible to find them in shops whose owners are members of theTobacconists’ Association of America. Often a blend sees the light of day for the first time inside the TAA member circle. In some cases the blend created continues to constitute an exclusive TAA, in others the brand owner expands its line, as happened with La Palina Bronze.
