Stillwell Star Navy No. 1056

Stillwell Star Navy No. 1056

Stillwell Star Navy No. 1056 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

Stillwell Star Navy No. 1056 is one of the four blends of the homonymous line introduced by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust in 2021. All Stillwell Star cigars come in a single Toro size and differ from each other in the blends.

The line has the particularity of including, among the filler leaves, tobacco that is usually used for pipes, while binder and wrapper are the same for all four sizes. Navy No. 1056 includes Red and Golden Virginia tobaccos in the filler with a touch of “Naval Rations” combined with Orientals and Latakia blended with dark air-cured black cigar leaf.

Each cigar has a second band at the foot with the blend’s name on it. They are sold in painted 13-ct boxes.

StillWell Star Navy No. 1056

The cigar is rolled in a shiny Maduro wrapper with brown reflections. It is somewhat rough to the touch, as well as the veins, which are present but not too evident. The construction and filling are excellent.

StillWell Star Navy No. 1056 2

Stillwell Star Navy No. 1056: in the cold draw, the spectrum of aromas is very rich. Peat and natural rubber stand out in a very marked way, followed by earth and black pepper, the latter is slightly less powerful than the first two.

StillWell Star Navy No. 1056 3

Once lit, the cigar brings a decidedly sapid smoke to the palate, but not too much. It expresses intense notes of wood and spices, followed by vegetal aromas and peat. The strength is medium-full (4/5).

In the central section, next to the initial sapidity is also a slightly sweet note present. The wood and peat are confirmed, unchanged in their initial intensity, enriched with pronounced earthy notes, and less marked black pepper. Strength becomes full (5/5).

In the last third, the sweet note of the central section disappears. The prominent woody note is confirmed, followed by notes of earth, nuts, and mineral nuances. Strength remains unchanged (5/5).

Overall, this StillWell Star Navy No. 1056 offers an uplifting and rich smoke. The flavor profile is broad, and the evolution is lively, allowing for an exciting smoke with every puff. Despite the strength being sustained, the profile is vibrant and very intense. Therefore the former does not dominate the reading of the flavors.
