Nikka Coffey Grain is a very widespread Japanese whiskey, made using a continuous Coffey stills. It is a single grain whiskey. It is made with the two Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, which were imported from Scotland to Japan in 1963.

Nose
It delivers intense spicy scents of black pepper, followed by a mix of yellow fruit and wild berries, together with some cocoa nuances.
Palate
Rich spicy notes are at the main flavor but they appear to be less rich if compared to the nose perception. Then cherry and pineapple are delivered, soon joined by a sugary note.
Finish
Long persistence. Notes of caramel, red fruit and spices are now perceivable.
Overall, the Nikka Coffey Grain is a Japanese whiskey equipped with a remarkable aromatic intensity. It is well balanced and has a good complexity to it. It is a nice product, easy to find as easy to enjoy. The price point is not among the best, as it happens with most of the whiskey made in Japan.
