Clynelish Reserve – House Tyrell

Clynelish Reserve – House Tyrell

Clynelish Reserve – House Tyrell 800 450 Federico Bosco

This is the latest products released by Diageo for the conclusion of the Game of Thrones series produced by HBO. There are nine celebratory bottlings available, of which we have already spoken in this news. In this case, we are talking about a Clynelish, a bottling with a higher alcohol content and for this reason it is in great demand at the time of the first release. For a time this bottle has reached high quotations, but since Diageo has released an abundant quantity of the same product, the price has gone back down.

The Tyrells are the lineage of Game of Thrones in High Garden, a very green area similar to the gentle hills on which the Clynelish distillery is located.

Clynelish Reserve - Casata Tyrell

TASTING NOTES CLYNELISH RESERVE – HOUSE TYRELL

Naso

intensity is just above medium, major notes of white pepper followed by grated yellow apple. Wildflower honey, a fresh herbal touch and Williams pear. Traces of wood, while the wax, trademark of Clynelish, appears briefly.

Palato

spicy, white pepper and ginger, then fruity notes of yellow fruit. Apple, pear, ripe banana and traces of pineapple. The sweetness is evident but not exaggerated. Spices mitigate the fruit. Hints of wood. Rather dry.

Finale

medium persistence, woody astringency, yellow fruit and white pepper. Monotone.

Despite the inviting gradation, this whisky suffers from a poor character. The overall structure is good, except for a contained flavor profile, that makes the drink unsatisfactory. A canonical Clynelish, with the exception of the wax that is almost absent here.
