Ashton Symmetry Prestige

Ashton Symmetry Prestige

Ashton Symmetry Prestige 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Ashton Symmetry was introduced over ten years ago with the intention of offering the public a classic, “Cuban-like” smoke.

Even the sizes recall the most classic vitolas among smokers, such as the Prestige, a Churchill. They are sold in lacquered 25-count boxes.

Ashton Simmetry Prestige (1)

Visually, the cigar is rolled in a shiny Colorado-colored wrapper with red reflections. It is pretty smooth to the touch, albeit with some accentuated veins. The filling, as well as the general quality, are good, as is the draw.

  • Size: 49 x 171 mm (6.75″)
  • Wrapper: Ecuador Habano Rosado
  • Binder: Dominican Republic
  • Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras
  • Price: $ 15 – € 16.80
Ashton Simmetry Prestige (2)

Ashton Symmetry Prestige: unlit, quite intense aromas of nuts and honey are perceived.

Ashton Simmetry Prestige (3)

Once lit, the smoke is slightly sapid on the palate but also bitter, with a profile dominated by wood and, to a lesser extent, by white pepper and balsamic hints. The strength is medium-light (2/5).

The initial sapidity becomes more evident in the central section, while the bitterness remains unchanged. The wood remains very present and well characterized, vegetal tones also appear, and the balsamic characters of the first third become light nuances. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).

In the last third, the aromas remain stable on the wood (very marked), and vegetal hints are less evident than before and are accompanied by a note of cellulose. The strength remains unchanged.

Overall, this Ashton Symmetry Prestige is a more than decent cigar, with well-defined and well-proportioned aromas with a strength that doesn’t exceed the medium level. However, the Churchill format, linked to a limited range of flavors and a very contained evolution, makes the cigar terribly monotonous.
