The wrapper is of an opaque Maduro color, while there are only a very few small veins present, it still has a bit of tooth to it. Construction is great with a generous and uniform filling.

Caldwell Long Live the Queen Maduro Queen’s Coronet: The cold draw reveals ripe fruit, wood, and leather. Once lit, the cigar starts out with a blast of spices followed by hazelnut and earth.

Further into the first third, the intensity of the spices (mainly black pepper) mellows out a bit. The earth and hazelnut are now flanked by leather. Strength wise it is a solid medium (3/5).

A cocoa aroma is added to the profile in the second third, with a suave balsamic herbal nuance appearing as well. The strength remains unchanged.

The flavor profile becomes fuller in the last third, with the balsamic aroma joining the other flavors in the foreground. The finale is balsamic and spicy and the strength increases to a medium-full level (4/5).

Overall, the Caldwell Long Live the Queen Maduro Queen’s Coronet is a well-structured and intense smoke. The flavor profile is well intertwined with each other, and the controlled strength level plays in favor of the profile.
