The Alec Bradley Magic Toast 5th Anniversary, as the name suggests, celebrates the fifth Anniversary of the line. To pay homage to this success, particular attention was paid to the blend, and a Perfecto shape was chosen.
The blend uses Nicaraguan Criollo leaves grown in Jalapa and Corojo and Criollo tobacco grown in Jamastran (Honduras) for the filler, under a double binder (Criollo grown in Estelì, Nicaragua and Criollo grown in Trojes, Honduras). The wrapper is a leaf grown in the Trojes region of Honduras.
The release is a limited edition for the US market, which will be sold in ten-count boxes.
Visually, the grandeur of the format is underlined by a luminous dark band, marbled with lighter tones, with brown reflections. To the touch it is a pleasant middle ground between smooth and rough, even if the veins are not very accentuated. The filling is homogeneous while the draft appears slightly tight. Nothing to complain about the manufacturing.

Alec Bradley Magic Toast 5th Anniversary: the cold draw reveals a very intense aroma of damp earth, followed by hints of undergrowth, peat, and bark.
Once lit, the smoke is sapid on the palate while a trio of spices, wood, and earth dominates the profile. The strength is medium-light (2/5).
In the central section, the sapidity remains unchanged, while nuances of coffee and incense appear alongside the trio of the first third. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).
In the last third, a mineral note explodes, leaving room for cocoa, alongside notes of wood and earth, which have now become the primary flavors of the profile. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).
Overall, the Alec Bradley Magic Toast 5th Anniversary offers a very interesting and extraordinarily intense smoke. Although focused on the combination of earth and wood throughout the smoke, the profile reveals notes and nuances that enrich the profile. The strength, kept on a medium register, is perfectly calibrated to the flavor profile and allows an enjoyable experience, even for those who have never tried the Magic Toast line or the format.
