Vegafina Year of the Dragon

Vegafina Year of the Dragon 1600 900 Luca Cominelli

The Vegafina Year of the Dragon was a limited release to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A total of 6.668 boxes of 16 cigars were made at García in the Dominican Republic. The cigars are sold in a red box and arranged on two rows.

The cigars are dressed up in a colorado leaf, with a peculiar head finish that shows a couple of pig tails. The construction is nice, with a very generous and firm filling. The bands are two: the classic VegaFina one, plus a red and golden label on the foot, due to this being a limited edition for the Chinese New Year.

Vegafina Year of the Dragon: the cold draw reveals scents of earth and roasted coffee beans with a hint of cocoa. The opening brings to the palate a nice pepperiness, together with seasoned wood.

The first third delivers a deep spicy being, with white and pink pepper perceivable, on a roasted wood base. There are some subtle vegetal hints as well. The strength is medium (3/5), and the persistence is long.

The second third proceeds on the spices, now flanked by earthy notes. The vegetal aromas are still present. The strength is unchanged (3/5).

The last third alternates earth and mushrooms. The strength is once again confirm and steady (3/5).

Overall, the Vegafina Year of the Dragon is a well-balanced cigar from the first to the last puff. It is capable of delivering a prolonged persistence.  The flavor profile is easy to enjoy.
