Habanos S.A. released the Romeo y Julieta Cupidos in the last quarter of 2023, although its release on the market had been scheduled for 2022. It is distributed worldwide through the Casa del Habano and Habano Specialist stores.

A unique vitola de galera was created called Veronas (55x148mm), whose name recalls the city of Verona, in the North East of Italy, where the events of Shakespeare’s opera “Romeo y Juliet” occur. The cigars are sold in an elegant 20-count box.

The cigar is dressed in a bright Colorado wrapper with brown reflections. It is smooth to the touch with light veining. The construction appears excellent, and even the weight of the cigar suggests the use of a generous amount of tobacco.

Romeo y Julieta Cupidos (2)

Romeo y Julieta Cupidos: strong hints of dry floral nuances are perceptible in the cold draw, followed by less intense notes of wood and nuts.

Romeo y Julieta Cupidos (3)

The opening immediately reveals a smoke that is sweet on the palate and also has a certain creaminess. It starts with a powerful woody note, followed by a subtle undertone of earth, white pepper, and coffee. Strength is medium (3/5).

The sweetness and strength (3/5) remain unchanged in the central section, while the cigar evolves significantly. Alongside the initial woody note, honey, of equal intensity, is followed by aromas of white pepper (which increase compared to the opening) and peanut.

In the last third, a light bitter note arises, which also causes a slight astringency. The cigar expresses notes of wood (very intense), metallic, white pepper, and nuts. The strength increases slightly (3.5/5).

Overall, the Romeo y Julieta Cupidos offers an interesting and persuasive smoke due to the creaminess on the palate, its sweetness, and well-balanced aromas. The flavor profile is round, with well-defined notes that combine very well with each other, all with a strength of medium intensity.

“Shakespeare’s opera”! The American educational system is a disgrace. Who on earth thinks the bard wrote operas? Seriously.

  • Thanks for the review.
I’m between buying a box out of the 2 choices bellow and I’m having difficulties to choose one.
    1- Romeo y julieta cupidos
    2- Romeo y julieta nobles

I 95% smoke only cuban cigars.

I enjoy cigars that have a complex taste development from start to finish, not only one taste because it’s boring if it’s a long cigar.

I like to be able to feel the tastes, in other words it shouldn’t be to light.
