Plasencia Ano del Caballo

Plasencia Cigar gallops already head into the Chinese New Year, by presenting the El Año del Caballo (Year of the Horse) for their Zodiac Edition.

Plasencia’s tribute to power and artistry features a unique hand-braided horse-tail cap inspired by the legendary Flying Horse of Gansu. This limited-edition release showcases the brand’s 160 years of craftsmanship with just 6,000 boxes available globally.

“The horse embodies independence, resilience, and forward motion,” said Néstor Andrés Plasencia, fifth generation. “El Año del Caballo is more than a cigar—it is a tribute to mastery in motion. From the rare, braided finish to the power and balance of the blend, this release reflects our legacy and our relentless drive to innovate.”

The Parejo Gordo (58 x 178mm – 7″) vitola features a horse-braid cap, a rare artisanal flourish executed by a trio of expert craftsmen: a master buncher, braider, and roller. The process requires twice the time of a standard cigar and precision humidity control to maintain the cap’s structural integrity. Each braid is sealed with a dual pañuelo wrap, preserving the integrity of this heirloom-quality finish.

Encased in a red lacquer box embossed with a braid motif, this collector’s item symbolizes prosperity and fortune in Chinese culture. Available in November 2026 at select premium tobacconists. The suggested retail price (MSRP) for a 10-count box is $590, while the price for a single cigar is $59.
