For a few weeks now, it is possible to find a new product by Manifatture Sigaro Toscano in Italian tobacconists, the Toscano Robusto. It is named due to its particular shape, completely new for the historic Italian cigar company, a 120mm long bitroncoconical shape with a larger belly and foot.
The cigar is handmade in the factory in Luca and involves the use of medium filler tobaccos. The blend seems to be the same as the Original Toscano: North American wrapper and filled with North American and Italian tobaccos. The packaging is particular: a rigid plastic cylinder where five pieces are placed, housed upright and reminiscent of the revolver drum. Retail price is 30 Euros.
The cigars are dressed with a slightly opaque, very dark wrapper, of a brown, almost tending to anthracite color. To the touch, it is rustic, with quite evident veins—good general workmanship.

Toscano Robusto: on the nose, there is an important note of leather, followed by a less evident peaty scent and a nuance of carob.
Summing up, this Toscano Robusto convinces from all points of view. The flavor complexity is very respectable, the balance of the flavors and strength is just right, and the finish is very long. Mechanically it offers a generous and satisfying amount of smoke. The smoking time added to an engaging flavor profile makes for a convincing smoke.
