RoMa Craft WunderLust Pre-Release Robusto

RoMa Craft WunderLust Pre-Release Robusto

RoMa Craft WunderLust Pre-Release Robusto 750 495 Michel Arlia

At last years Inter-Tabac fair, Skip Martin, co-owner of RoMa Craft, was also present and he was hosted by the Schuster family. There the idea of the Wunder|Lust was born. The cigar is inspired by the tobacco that you’ll find in the huge inventory of the Schusters, they handle, beginning this year, the import of RoMa Craft in Germany.

RoMa Craft WunderLust Pre-Release Robusto_3

The line will be officially presented at this years Inter-Tabac, that will take place in September. The tidbit, the Wunder|Lust will be produced exclusively for the European market. The four different vitals will be:
• Petit Belicoso
• Robusto
• Gran Corona
• Gran Toro
They will be packaged in boxed of 22 and produced at the factory of RoMa Craft (NicaSueño) with an annual run limited to 100’000 cigars in total. The prices are not determined yet, but Annemarie Schuster told us, that the large part of the line will sell for under 10€.
Being a Pre-Release (received by Skip Martin in person), the tobaccos used in the filler are not disclosed yet. Certain are the binder and wrapper, they are respectively a Besuki from Indonesia and a Mata Fina from Brazil.
The cigar is well constructed, without any soft spots and in the classic Robusto measures (50 x 127mm). The wrapper has a colorado color and is smooth to the touch.

Smoking notes:
RoMa Craft WunderLust Robusto Pre-Release: the cold draw reveals notes of hay and spices. The beginning brings notes of fine wood, coffee and leather to the palate.
The first third sees the adding of herbs and the aromatic palate releases notes of fine wood, coffee and leather. There are also hints of earth perceptible in the retro-hale. In some puffs it is outlined by black pepper. The strength is medium (3/5).

The smoke in the second third becomes thicker and leaves a dry sensation in the mouth. The base is savory in certain parts. Notes of earth, coffee, bitter chocolate and citrus alternate well together and progressing the base becomes slightly sweet. Coming to the end of this third, the black pepper increases in intensity and the strength becomes medium full (4/5).
In the final third the fine wood notes return followed by citrus, bitter chocolate, coffee and earth. The black pepper note is more pronounced now and becomes the leading flavor in the finale. The strength is now full bodied (5/5) and gives rise to a very intense and rewarding finale.
Over all a completely different cigar that you would expect from a Roma Craft, in regards of the strength, even if the finale shows the characteristics that belong to this Nicaraguan brand. The aromatic palate is balanced and the intensity of the aromas makes it so, that the attention is always on the cigar, fully involving the aficionado.
