Patina Cigars on route to the States

Patina Cigars on route to the States

Patina Cigars on route to the States 300 293 Michel Arlia

Patina Cigars, a collaboration between Mombacho Cigars and Mo Maali, are on route to the states and should reach retailers in the coming weeks.

There will be two lines: the Patina Connecticut and the Patina Habano. The names of each Patinas indicates the wrapper used for the cigars. As for the blend, both lines feature a Nicaraguan binder and filler from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania, USA.

Patina Emblem

Each line will come in four sizes. The Patina Connecticut includes:
    ▪    Artifact – 49 x 178 mm, Churchill
    ▪    Bronze – 52 x 152 mm, Toro
    ▪    Oxidation – 56 x 152 mm, Double Toro
    ▪    Rustic – 52 x 127 mm, Robusto

While the Patina Habano is made up of:
    ▪    Copper – 46 x 152 mm, Corona Gorda
    ▪    Bronze – 52 x 152 mm, Toro
    ▪    Oxidation – 56 x 152 mm, Double Toro
    ▪    Rustic – 52 x 127 mm, Robusto

Claudio Sgroi, who blended the cigars, had this to say about Patina: “Patina is the example of how blending is an extremely complex process! The Connecticut will completely change the idea of what a mild cigar should be and the Habano will surprise with its unique profile. Both cigars are tremendously different of what we are used to smoking and we are very excited about their release.”

Owner of Patina Cigars, Mo Maali, said: “Patina is an oxidation process that, over time, produces a green film over bronze or copper. In the same spirit, our experiences in life shape our opinions, attitudes and beliefs. Just as those buildings underneath the Patina retain their original character, we too as human beings will always be ourselves at our core. No matter what happens in life, always be true to yourself. Learning about tobacco and blending from Claudio is like learning how to paint from Leonardo Da Vinci. It is a privilege to have my cigars produced at Casa Favilli and I am excited for the journey ahead.”
