The wrapper is of a Colorado tonality, with little sheen on it. Touching up the product, the wrapper is smooth, with not very pronounced veins, and filling is generous. The head is finished with a pig tail. An overall top-quality craftsmanship.

One Off Prominente: the cold draw revelas slight traces of barnyard, spices and wood.

The opening of the smoke is surprisingly rich and complex: the trio of cocoa, honey and dried fruits are perceptible, on a sweet base of medium intensity. There are also wood and spices perceptible, but they are not as intense as the first flavors. Strength is light (1/5). It produces a slightly dry smoke, which tends to dry out the mouth.

With the second third comes a salty note, that follows the sweet flavor from the beginnin, that doesn’t prevail over, but rather enriches the smoke. Aromatically, the spices become more robust, dominating the cocoa and the even less marked notes of wood and coffee. Strength doesn’t change, staying light.

In the final part, the fruition undergoes a significant and appreciable change: the sweet-salty flavor (with the predominance of the former over the latter) reverses in to a salty-sweet combination, supported by aromas of nuts, wood and pepper. Coffee and balsamic notes, which enhance the aromatic aspect in the finale, are also perceptible in the background. Strength increases slightly becoming medium light (2/5).

Overall, this Prominente is a balanced cigar if you take the light aromas and the little pronounced strength into account. Were the intensity of the aromas suffer a little, due to its age (the example smoked dates back to 1999), the evolution and aromatic complexity, precisely taking the aging time into account, are still able to offer not a boring nor banal smoke. The only downside is the dryness of the smoke that, on such a long example, dries out the mouth, forcing the smoker to drink water.
