Tasting notes MACALLAN 18 FINE OAK
Nose: intense spicy notes, culminating in white pepper, are accompanied by a touch of cinnamon. It is then the turn of fruity aromas, among which a mix of peach and apricot is perceivable. There are also notes of citrus (lemon and cedar). Completing the bouquet, a nuance of yellow melon.
Palate: velvety and rounded. The first sip result a little watered down. It resumes almost immediately with notes of fine spices, including white pepper and paprika. The sherry component is quite evident but not overwhelming: a mix of red fruit, mainly sour cherry and plum.
Finish: medium persistence. Not particularly complex. White pepper, fruit and spices get delivered.
The Macallan 18 Fine Oak is a whisky with two sides: on one hand the complexity coming from the aging is evident, on the other hand the ease of drinking makes it very interesting for anyone. A easy product to appreciate.
