Tasting Notes MACALLAN 18 1971
Nose: elegant but at the same time decisive. It unleashes a mix of well-balanced aromas, including dried fruits (raisins and dates), red fruits (black cherry and cherry) and black pepper. The flavors are supported by a hint of powder and incense, that is perceived after a few minutes. Dried mushrooms, truffles, and dark chocolate.
Palate: the mouthfeel is sweet and slightly spicy. It then turns to rich notes of dried fruits, brown sugar and balanced spices. Everything is exceptionally harmonious. Coffee beans appear towards the end.
Finish: very prolonged persistence. Develops black pepper, cocoa and dried fruits. Great elegance.
The intensity has not faded even after spending almost 30 years in the bottle. The flavor profile is well defined and has exceptional harmony. Fascinating.
