Glenrothes 2007/2017 Adelphi

Glenrothes 2007/2017 Adelphi

Glenrothes 2007/2017 Adelphi 800 450 Federico Bosco

From the heart of Speyside, Glenrothes has been making products since 1878. They are usually gentle, balanced and traditionally aged in ex-Sherry casks. Along with the large core-range, there are several independent bottlings around. This is the case with this Glenrothes 2007/2017 Adelphi. Ten year old barrel, the number 10235, selected by Adelphi, an independent Scottish bottler. This whisky is bottled at Cask Strength.

TASTING NOTES GLENROTHES 2007/2017 ADELPHI

Nose: the alcohol content is high, but not excessive, and well integrated. Dried fruits (raisins and dates) initially, then candied fruits and orange peel. Spicy peaks of black pepper are perceived at times, without being too pronounced. Honey, vanilla and almond (pronounced) complete the flavor profile.

Palate: the alcohol is well integrated here as well.

Finish: long persistence and moderately complex. It reveals spices, including white pepper and cinnamon, dried fruits and bitter orange jam.

The rather high gradation allows the spirit to express itself to the fullest. This whisky is an excellent product that, despite its unaddressed age, has a rather good complexity. Intensity and finish are above average.
