TASTING NOTES – FRANCOIS VOYER VSOP

Nose

It delivers homemade blackcurrant jam, all kind of marmalades, cooked berry fruit, dried apricot, and also some new leather. There is also a touch of sandalwood. Interesting.

Palate

Good arrival, decent mouthfeel, more of the same as the nose: more apricot, orange peel, caramel, rather good earthy side to it, leather, and tobacco. Nice weight, maybe getting a touch oaky in the very end.

Finish

Shortish. Dried fruit, black tea, and some oak bitterness.

Overall, the Francois Voyer VSOP is a nice cognac, one of the best in the VSOP range. The finish is what’s stopping a higher rating.
