Davidoff revealed two new Masterpiece Humidor releases for 2020. Both humidors are again created by French Artist Rose Saneuil, who has worked with Davidoff on other Masterpiece Humidors in the past.
The Masterpiece Humidor Series 2020 I will debut in September and is inspired by the sunset and uses materials such as gold leaf, tobacco leaves, mother of pearl, parchment, walnut, wenge, and pearwood. It is limited to eight units worldwide.
The Masterpiece Humidor Series 2020 II will ship in November and uses gold leaf, tobacco leaves, mother of pearl, parchment, Macassar, vavona, and sycamore. This release is finished with a shimmering effect to create a vibrant look.
All these elements, for both humidors, are laid by hand into the top of the lid to create a large image. Both humidors use African Okoumé wood on the inside. Each humidor contains 50 cigars.
As has been the case with the Masterpiece Humidors in the past, these releases will also include cigars exclusively made for the humidors. This year’s cigar comes in a 52 x 152 mm (6″) size. The blend is made up of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an Ecuadorian 702 binder and Dominican fillers. The tobaccos used in the blend have been aged multiple years and range from five to 13 years.
