Aesthetically, the cigar is rolled in a shiny Colorado Maduro wrapper. It is smooth to the touch, with fairly pronounced veins.

Cornelius & Anthony Venganza Judge: the cold draw reveals predominantly  cocoa, pepper and a slight woody nuance.

CorneliusAnthonyVenganzaRobusto

The opening of the cigar starts rather sapid. Even flavor-wise the cigar reveals very pronounced notes of spices, wood and earth. Strength is medium (3/5).

In the second third, next to saltiness, that has remained unchanged, a surprising sweetness appears. However, this change is not followed by an evolution in flavor. The cigar is a combination of spices and wood. Strength increases slightly, becoming medium – full (4/5).

There is no change in flavor in the final third. Only the sweetness of the second third looses a bit in intensity. The wood characters remain unchanged, while a walnut note emerges. Strength remains medium – full (4/5).

Overall, this Cornelius & Anthony Venganza Judge is a very simple cigar. Balance is the only saving grace of this cigar. The flavor profile is limited, as is the persistency and evolution. It is a product from which you do not expect a spectacular smoke, provided you do not underestimate the strength.
