Tasting notes BOWMORE 9 SHERRY CASK MATURED
Nose: sherry notes are the first to be delivered. Then it is the time of red fruits and a peaty sensation, together with a little bit of smoke. Last come to the nose a mix of port wine and spicy notes (cinnamon, cardamomon and white pepper).
Palate: the spices are still present (white pepper and cinnamon). The red fruit notes are light but still perceivable: there are strawberries and black sherry. The peat is present but is not too much and it doesn’t overwhelm the aromatic palette. The last aroma coming to the palate is the black pepper.
Finish: average persistence. It delivers spicy notes, together with peat and red fruits.
The marriage between sherry and peat is not easy and usually the result is a masterpiece or a product with no harmony. This Bowmore 9 Sherry Cask Matured is a good compromise: the Bowmore aromatic palette is present and there is also a nice aging. Also, price is very interesting.
