TASTING NOTES BALVENIE 21 PORTWOOD
Nose: immediately sweets notes that are typical of the distillery, which result in honey and a fruity component, including apricot, peach and pear. It continues with orange jam, supported by a suave white pepper spice.
Palate: It is then the turn of red fruits, including strawberry and sour cherry, followed by sensations of wine and must. The intensity is limited, due to the rather low gradation.
Finish: of medium-short persistence. Light notes of wood, vanilla, coffee and cocoa are perceptible.
Despite the advanced age, this Balvenie 21 Portwood seems to belong to a younger age group. This is due to the too low gradation for this kind of bottling. The characteristics of the distillery remain and the overall harmony is good, but the expectations were greater.
