The XO line by Balmoral was created to give greater luster to products that, until a decade ago, were classified as mass-market cigars. In recent years, given the enormous success, the Connecticut version was also born, which does not only offer another wrapper variant but a completely different blend. For this line, Brazilian, Dominican, and Pennsylvania tobacco are used for the filler, a Sumatra binder grown in Ecuador, and a Connecticut wrapper. All Balmoral Anejo XO Connecticut cigars, offered in five sizes, are sold to the public in boxes of 20 pieces.

The first half brings the fresh wood to the palate again, accompanied by a vegetal background and a spicy note, which recalls chili. In the background, earth and black pepper are perceived. The finish is marked. Strength stands at slightly above medium (3.5/5).
In the second half, the flavor profile continues with fresh wood, now followed by herbal aromas. Approaching the end, the cigar turns to notes of earth and balsamic herbs. The strength remains constant throughout the entire smoke (3.5/5).
Overall, the Balmoral Anejo XO Connecticut Petit Robusto FT releases a particularly balanced and structured smoke. Despite the small size that aims to satisfy in a short period of time, the cigar is quite complex, making this short smoke anything but boring.
