These past days, the latest product of the Moderno Opificio Sigaro Italiano, the “Ambasciator Italico Superiore La Mia Selezione” (which in Italian means “my selection”), has reached the tobacconists. As already reported a few days ago, this version of the classic Superiore was born as a personal selection of Cesare Pietrella, patron of MOSI. The cigars benefited from at least three years of rest at the factory. They are sold in elegant thee count cardboard packs at a price of 20.00 Euros.
Once the package is opened, we find ourselves in front of cigars with a dark wrapper and a particularly generous diameter. The band, very elegant and captivating in its simplicity, is placed more towards the end than in the center of the cigar. The wrapper is very dark brown, almost tending towards anthracite. To the touch, it is quite smooth, with moderately pronounced veins. Excellent construction.

Ambasciator Italico Superiore La mia selezione: unlit, it reveals aromas of wood and nuts, with a light mineral component.
Ultimately, the Superiore La mia selezione is a compelling and exquisite product. The rest period has greatly refined the roughness of the Kentucky tobacco without distorting its identity. Flavor-wise, the smoke’s central part is very interesting, as it is broad in terms of the number of aromas and their refinement—excellent balance between strength and the flavors.
