Nestled between the Swiss Alps and the Lake Constance, Brauerei Locher is a historical brewery that has been producing a range of beer casked whisky for the past two decades. This year’s special edition is a single malt aged for six years in beer casks and then finished in flavorful sherry butts. It showcases a unique tasting profile.
Malt and mineral notes, with a touch of burning match, together with red fruit. On the palate noble wood, vanilla and toffee, enriched by a sweet spiciness. Peppery finish, with cloves and wood spices.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE?
Among the whiskies tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those who scored the best were selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
