#1 – Foursquare Nobiliary

2020 Spirits Awards

Foursquare Nobiliary

Foursquare Nobiliary

COUNTRY: Barbados
ABV (PROOF): 62% (124)
PRICE: $ 98 | € 79
TYPE: rum

Owned by the Seale family, Foursquare is one of the most prestigious traditional and independent distilleries in Barbados. This Nobiliary expresses the noblest and most exclusive soul of the 2005 production. It is a cuvée of molasses rum from column and pot still that has spent fourteen years in bourbon casks before being bottled cask strength.

In the glass, a blast of tropical fruit, a wide range of spices, and precious wood. The palate is coated by precious wood, vanilla, caramel, and coffee beans. The long finish is dominated by a riot of spices.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE?

Among the rums tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those who scored the best were selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof).  The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made. This list will be published in detail in the Winter 2020 issue of CigarsLover Magazine.
