El Pulpo Robusto Grande 1600 900 Michel Arlia

El Pulpo is a cigar line created by brothers Billy and Gus Fakih under the Artesano del Tobacco brand. The brothers have over twenty years of experience in the cigar industry. Launched in 2023 under the Artesano del Tobacco label, it features a dark San Andrés wrapper from Mexico and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, offering a robust flavor profile with sweetness and spiciness.

Like all Artesano del Tobacco blends, the cigars are produced by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua.

The wrapper is smooth, with a deep Maduro hue and only a couple of small veins. Construction is uniform throughout, though the draw leans slightly on the open side.

El Pulpo Robusto Grande: a mix of hay and spices sets the stage before lighting. The cigar opens with marked aromas of leather, black pepper, and wood.

A cocoa sweetness soon joins the profile in the first third, accompanied by a walnut nuance lingering in the background. Strength settles at a solid medium (3/5).

An earthy note enters the picture, weaving among the established flavors of leather, wood, and pepper. The cocoa and walnut remain present in the background. Strength remains unchanged.

Walnut takes over as the dominant flavor, while the pepper grows progressively spicier towards the finish. Strength climbs to a medium-full (4/5).

Overall, the El Pulpo Robusto Grande is a complex and flavorful smoke. The aromas complement each other well throughout, and the balance between strength and flavor is handled with precision.
