Davidoff returns to the spotlight with the introduction of its Grande Humidor, a piece that reaffirms the brand’s reputation as one of the benchmarks in cigar storage design. Conceived for collectors with substantial cigar inventories, the new humidor brings together generous proportions, fine materials, and meticulous Italian craftsmanship.
The Grande Humidor is crafted from Gaboon ebony, a dense and richly toned wood that has long been associated with luxury and exclusivity. Its dark grain pattern, each piece slightly different, gives every humidor a distinct visual character. The interior, made from okoumé wood, is odourless and ideal for maintaining the cigars’ original bouquet. Together, these elements create both aesthetic harmony and technical reliability.

With a capacity of up to 140 cigars, the humidor sits in the upper tier of Davidoff’s collection. Two Davidoff De Luxe regulators ensure a consistent humidity level without the need for manual calibration. A removable tray with wooden dividers allows enthusiasts to organise their cigars by brand, format, or origin, which is an appreciated detail for collectors who enjoy a structured presentation.
Each Grande Humidor undergoes an extensive finishing process: hand-selected veneers are arranged in a mirrored grain pattern, then varnished and sanded five times before receiving a final matte or glossy finish. The result is an understated yet striking visual presence, with a depth that rewards close inspection under natural light. Despite its dimensions (480 × 280 × 200 mm), it retains a sense of balance and proportion that aligns with Davidoff’s design philosophy: elegance through restraint.

Edward Simon, CSMO at Oettinger Davidoff, describes the Grande Humidor as “a tribute to Italian craftsmanship” that combines ample capacity with value rarely seen at this level of refinement. Indeed, while many high-end humidors focus on aesthetic statement pieces, Davidoff’s new model seems aimed at the intersection of function, luxury, and long-term usability.
A Legacy of Innovation
Davidoff’s relationship with humidors is foundational to its identity. It was Zino Davidoff himself who, in 1930, constructed the first cigar cellar designed to maintain cigars under ideal conditions – an innovation that led to the creation of the portable humidor. Over the decades, the brand has continued to explore new forms and materials, from traditional woods to glass, stone, and artist collaborations. The Grande Humidor follows that lineage, not as an experiment in form, but as a refinement of purpose.
With the Grande Humidor, Davidoff delivers a statement piece for serious collectors: a functional sculpture that embodies the precision, patience, and quiet confidence that define the brand’s approach to cigar culture.
