The Tobacconist of Greenwich and Foundation Cigar Co. present Ceremony, a new addition to The Tobacconist’s Rare Finds Collection, two years in the making. This limited-release cigar, available exclusively through The Tobacconist since September, reflects the sacred origins of tobacco in the Connecticut River Valley.
The cigar’s leather presentation box showcases a medallion bearing The Tobacconist’s emblem. Ceremony pays homage to tobacco’s historical and cultural significance.
“Ceremony has been two years in development, and every one of those days was worth it. The Connecticut River Valley is sacred ground for tobacco and for this craft. To build something that honors that history, in partnership with The Tobacconist of Greenwich, and to wrap it in a leaf grown from that same earth. This is everything Foundation Cigars stands for. I am proud of every inch of this cigar,” said Nicholas Melillo, Founder of Foundation Cigar Co.

“Ceremony is the kind of collaboration that defines what the Rare Finds program exists to do,” said Michael Cafagno, Owner and CEO of The Tobacconist of Greenwich. “Nick Melillo is one of the most thoughtful, visionary makers in our industry, and what he has created here is a masterpiece. The packaging alone tells a story. The cigar finishes it. We are honored to bring this to our collectors.”
“We have been working toward this release for over two years, and the result is something I believe is genuinely without comparison in the Rare Finds collection,” said Dylan Austin, President & COO of The Tobacconist of Greenwich. “Nick’s commitment to honoring the history of this leaf and the way Foundation has poured that intention into every detail of Ceremony is a reflection of exactly the kind of partnership we seek to build. Our collectors understand what that means.”

Ceremony is a 5 3/4 x 56 soft box-pressed Perfecto, wrapped in Connecticut Broadleaf with Nicaraguan binder and filler. Only 400 boxes of 14 cigars each have been produced, priced at $35 per cigar or $490 per box.
