Tabacalera El Artista has partnered with China Tobacco to develop and distribute the new Taishan · Artista cigar project. This collaboration combines Dominican cigar-making expertise with China’s production capabilities.
Unveiled at InterTabac 2026, the project features two cigars that share the same blend but are produced in two countries. One is a Toro made in the Dominican Republic by Tabacalera EL Artista, and the other is a Pyramid produced in China at China Tobacco Shandong’s Jinan factory. Radhames Rodriguez of Tabacalera El Artista created the blend in partnership with China Tobacco’s blending team, using exclusive tobaccos from Tabacalera El Artista.
The Taishan · Artista project will debut in Hong Kong and Macau in December 2026, followed by expansion to China Duty Free locations in Spring and Summer 2027, with CTIHK overseeing distribution in those markets. The Toro will also launch in the Americas and Europe in late Spring 2027, with distribution handled by TCD Logistics and Tobacco & Cigar Distribution.
This partnership allows both companies to enhance their market reach and technical exchange, with the Taishan · Artista project being the first of many collaborative cigar initiatives.
