The Tatuaje Fausto IT MM19 is the second release of a regional series exclusively for Italy. Compared to last years V551 release, the IT MM19 has the same blend (everything, except for the Mexican San Andres wrapper, is identical to the regular production Fausto), but the size is different. This years release is larger in ring gauge and length.
The amount of boxes launched for this year was also increased. While last year only 200 boxes were released, this year’s was bumped up to 400 then-count boxes.
Visually, the wrapper is of a Maduro shade and has some decent tooth to it. There are no evident veins present and construction is good.

Tatuaje Fausto IT MM19: the cold draw bring a mix of wood and spice to the palate. Once lit, the cigar opens up with sweetened coffee notes.
Progressing further into the first third, the flavor profile is dominated by a trio of walnut, wood and earth. The smoke itself is surprisingly sweet and the spices, mainly black pepper, are exclusively present in the retro hale. Strength is a solid medium (3/5).
The second third becomes even sweeter and next to the earth, wood and walnut notes appears a subtle creaminess. Black pepper is still only found through retro-haling the cigar. Strength increases to medium – full (4/5).
Earth, wood and walnut remain the main flavors in the last third as well, but they are now followed by notes of balsamic herbs. While the sweetness has dissappeared, the black pepper, in the retro-hale, has now morphed into cinnamon. There is still some cream perceptible here and there. The last few puffs turn to hot spices. Strength increases is now full (5/5).
Overall, the Tatuaje Fausto IT MM19 starts out surprisingly sweet. But don’t let the sweetness fool you, this is a full bodied smoke. Surprising is also the fact that, regarding how full bodied this cigar is, the spices are exclusively perceptible in the retro-hale. It is a balanced, intense and complex smoke, that coats the palate.
