Port Charlotte Scottish Barley

Port Charlotte Scottish Barley

Port Charlotte Scottish Barley 800 450 Federico Bosco

Port Charlotte is the peated version, at about 50 Parts Per Million, of Bruichladdich, historical distillery of the island of Islay. Eventful in terms of changes in ownership, but lately it seems to have reached a good degree of stability. n the official website it is possible to check the barrels with which this batch of bottles was created, guaranteeing absolute transparency.

TASTING NOTES PORT CHARLOTTE SCOTTISH BARLEY

Nose: peat is perceptible, but is well measured and not overhelming. CAfter a few minutes, bacon and a smoky sensetion of fireplace appear, supported by burnt wood. The gradation seems optimal and we suggest the addition of a few drops of water.

Palate: It then turn to bacon, and rich notes of bitter orange jam. Vanilla and peat reach the palate as well. The bouquet is extremely elegant.

Finish: long persistence. Spices (black pepper), peat, vanilla and smoke.

The peat is always under control and allows you to fully appreciate the remaining flavor profile. A whisky that is interesting to the nose, structured and intense on the palate, satisfying and very persistent in the finish. It needs the right moment to be appreciated to the fullest.
