Pierre Ferrand 10 Generations

Pierre Ferrand 10 Generations

Pierre Ferrand 10 Generations 1600 899 Kaarel Kluge

The Pierre Ferrand 10 Generations is a Grande Champagne Cognac, that was introduced to the market to honour the ten generations of Ferrand family members behind the Cognac house. For the making of this cognac, only Ugni-Blanc grapes have been used, and 20% of the spirit was matured in casks that previously held Sauternes wine.

TASTING NOTES – PIERRE FERRAND 10 GENERATIONS

Nose

Intense notes of raisins, marmalades, and a touch of Panettone. There are also cinnamon, vanilla, and nail polish, together with some earthy scents. Quite a bit of sweetness, rather pleasant.

Palate

Good arrival and a decent weight. It delivers aromas of banana liqueur, candied raisins, digestive biscuits, and walnuts. Nice intensity. Very sweet but with a nice freshness to it, given by notes of pine needles.

Finish

Medium, more like a dessert wine, with some herbal teas, little drying.

Overall, the Pierre Ferrand 10 Generations is a quite enjoyable cognac. The sweetness doesn’t get too cloying here, and the 46% ABV works wonders.
