Montecristo Media Corona

Montecristo Media Corona

Montecristo Media Corona 750 439 Roberto Canzi

Montecristo Media Corona is a Cuban cigar of moderate dimensions: cepo 44 x length 90 mm.

The wrapper shows a colorado shade and has a slightly rough touch with some veins. The filling appears to be adequate.

Smoking notes.

Montecristo Media Corona_2

Montecristo Media Corona: the cold draw offers nuances of nuts and mild wood. Firing it up opens these aromas: almond, fine wood, and earth.

They persist during the first part and intensify after few puffs: mainly almond (often with a bitter flavor) and earth, while spicy notes starts to make their presence in the background. Strength is medium (3/5).

The second half of the cigar develops the same aromatic palette, which is joined by echoes of coffee and chewing hints of hide. We can still detect those fine spices in the background. Strength slightly increases (3,5/5).

The ending is marked by hints of leather and hardwood. Strength persists on the same level (3,5/5).

Clearly, the advantage of the Montecristo Media Corona is the pronounced aromatic intensity: few but extremely distinguished and balanced aromas produce a linear evolution. The smoke is creamy and abundant (be careful in pacing the puffs, otherwise one might overheat the cigar), but the combustion requires some tampering. Ashes are compact. The post-smoke flavors are of medium persistence with nuances of lightly spiced hardwood.

Rating: 85.
