TASTING NOTES LEDAIG 1998/2016 WILSON&MORGAN
Nose: despite the particularly high gradation, it is quite approachable. Immediately the main scent is paprika, which is impressive. Then followed by spicy notes of black pepper and cumin, then a hint of dried fruits (dates and figs). Paprika dominates this first segment.
Palate: it is sweet and slightly acidic. Notes of red fruits (sour cherry and plum), lemon and spices (black pepper) are perceived. The intensity is high.
Finale: long persistency. Cocoa, black pepper, red fruits, spices and wood are perceptible.
The distillery confirms that it is not easy to approach, but of high quality. The alcohol component is sometimes excessive, and dilution with water is advised.
