The Laphroaig in question is a rather rare bottle. This is a single cask from Laphroaig selected by Sansibar, an independent German bottler, that has been marketing whisky bottles for several years now.

TASTING NOTES LAPHROAIG 1997/2015 SANSIBAR
Nose: peat is present immediately, but gives way to many other flavors. Bacon, saffron, black pepper, salty hints of coast, iodine. A mainly mineral tendency. Sharp.
Palate: peat, coastal, then iodine, oysters, seafood, salt. It continues on citrus notes, lemon and lime, then black pepper and ginger. It concludes with licorice and espresso coffee.
Finish: medium persistence, with high intensity. Mineral peat, licorice, black pepper, menthol and lime.
Everything is in the right place without any defects, it remains not too complex and well layered. Excellent intensity.
