Lagavulin 10 Year Travel Retail

Lagavulin 10 Year Travel Retail

Lagavulin 10 Year Travel Retail 800 450 Federico Bosco

We recently mentioned the launch of this 10 Year from Lagavulin. It is a rather young whisky for the distillery. With it, they complete their core range, despite the whisky only being available for the Travel Retail stores.

The whisky in question ages for 10 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, one of which is rejuvenated. Information about it is scarce, as it often happens for such bottlings. In any case, the bottle is available at higher prices through other channels.

TASTING NOTES LAGAVULIN 10 ANNI TRAVEL RETAIL

Nose

peated and smoked notes are joined by a discreet sweetness of caramel and dried fruit. Licorice, orange peel and black pepper, then hints of camphor and spices. Iodine notes after a few minutes in the glass.

Palate

light first impact, prevalent sweet notes, slight spiciness of black pepper. Ripe fruit, apple and dried apricot. Licorice, iodine and maritime notes.

Finish

medium persistence. Licorice, black pepper, sapid and fruity notes. Balsamic notes of rosemary balsamic.

An unexpected Lagavulin, at times distant from the other whiskies of the parent company. The palate is light, without adequate complexity, and has sweet notes that are difficult to identify. It is easy to drink, that alone justifies the purchase of the bottle (at the correct price). For complexity, intensity and elegance it is better to look elsewhere.
