During 2018 Joya de Nicaragua has added the Silver line to its “color” theme (click here for more information). Among the various sizes produced, there is the Ultra.

Joya Silver Ultra

Visually, the wrapper is shiny and of a Maduro shade. It is silky to the touch, while the veins are not very pronounced. The construction is more than good, it is also box pressed. Nothing to report about filling and draw, which appear satisfactory.

Joya Silver Ultra

Joya Silver Ultra: unlit, marked aromas of cocoa and hazelnut, and a slight nuance reminiscent of leather, are present on the nose.

Joya Silver Ultra

The opening is delicate, played on sapid and sweet flavors. It developes flavors of cocoa, earth and pepper, on a leathery background. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the second third, the sapidity increases, without however destroying the sweetness, which remains contained. The leather note intensify, together with cocoa and spices, replaced by the initial pepper. Strength increases slightly (3/5).

In the final third, the only flavor that characterizes the cigar is the sapidity, which does not undergo any variations. The evolution is centered around a few aromas, already present, but changing in intensity. The leather note is structured in a powerful way, becoming the main flavor, the wood is somewhat present, with the spices moving to the background. Strength remains stable (3/5).

Overall, the blend that characterizes the Joya Silver Ultra appears to be medium in strength and flavors. What, however, the product lacks, is the evolution that is somewhat contained. However, even if the flavors are few in number, these return a simple and easy smoke, but with great satisfaction.
