TASTING NOTES GLENDRONACH CASK STRENGTH BATCH 7

Nose: the alcohol is evident, as is the strong spiciness of cinnamon and white pepper, which is initially intrusive. There are notes of tea and acacia honey, quite peculiar for a Glendronach. Then caramel, hazelnut and veiled notes of almond milk, joined by yellow fruits, ripe apple and dried apricot. Alcohol fades with time. This whisky needs to breath.

Palate: Sweet on the lips. There is also a slight minerality present, a touch of unripe red fruits, traces of cocoa beans and ginger. The alcohol component is evident.

Finish: of long persistence and medium complexity. It reveals cocoa beans, tea, spices and herbs.

Notes related to a Sherry cask aging seem absent, only a few traces of cocoa and red fruits. The flavor profile is not close to what usually comes out of this distillery.
