El Loco La Viuda

El Loco La Viuda

El Loco La Viuda 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The mind behind this El Loco La Viuda is the same of the ADVentura cigars: Marcel Knobel. However, the El Loco cigars are not made in the Domincan Republic, but in Mexico. This cigar is born thanks to a collaboration with Alejandro Turrent, the most known man in the Mexican tobacco industry.

Right now, El Loco cigars are available exclusively in Europe. They come in a pyramid shaped box, with 18 cigars inside.

El Loco La Viuda

The cigars are dressed up in a Colorado shaded wrapper, that is slightly rough to the touch. Filling is uniform and overall construction is good.

El Loco La Viuda

El Loco La Viuda: hay and spices in the cold draw. First few puffs are acidulous and mainly vegetal.

El Loco La Viuda

The first third gets more intense after the first few puffs, with notes of black pepper and earth, enriched by a mix of walnuts and hazelnuts. Strength is a little above medium (3.5/5).

The middle section turns to herbs and spices, the latter culminating in hot spices. The nutty aroma is still present, but it as turned more to almonds now. Strength doesn’t change (3.5/5).

In the final third, the nuts become the protagonist, together with some roasted notes. Strength doesn’t not increase and the finale is well balanced.

Overall, the El Loco La Viuda develops a well balanced smoke. The first half boasts a much broader flavor profile compared to the second part of the smoke, where the flavor are few in numbers. That said, the intensity is good for the whole smoke.
