Don Tomàs Nicaragua Toro

Don Tomàs Nicaragua Toro

Don Tomàs Nicaragua Toro 800 450 Giuseppe Mitolo

Among the various production lines of the Don Tomàs brand is the Nicaragua line, consisting of four sizes, including the Toro. Jalapa (Nicaragua).

• Country of Origin: Nicaragua
• Size: 46 x 140 mm (5,5″)
• Wrapper: Nicaragua
• Binder: Brazil
• Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua

The cigar is wrapped in a bright reddish Colorado Maduro shaded leaf. In hand, it is slightly rough to the touch, with some small veins present. Nothing to report on the overall construction, which seems to be good.

Don Tomàs Nicaragua Toro: the perceptible scents in the cold draw recall cocoa, with less evident hints of dried fruits and light nuances of pepper.

The opening is mildly salty, supported by a peak of acidity. Aromatically, it releases notes of dried fruits, wood and spices, all of equal and medium intensity. Strength, contrarily to the appearance, is very light (1.5/5).

 width=

In the central part, the acidity disappears and makes room for a delicate sweetness that combines the more robust saltiness, which has remained unchanged from the beginning. The aromatic evolution brings only a delicate fragrance of dried flowers, which joins the already present notes of wood and spices. Strength increases, remaining however medium-light (2/5).

In spite of the size, the cigar does not evolve further in flavors and strength, compared to the second third. However, it remains composed, which allows for an enjoyable smoke until the end.

Overall, this Don Tomàs Nicaragua Toro is a cigar particularly suitable for those who want to start discovering the Nicaraguan terroir. It manages to let itself be smoked without too much trouble or attention. It is balanced and also discreetly flavorful. Its aromatic evolution is a bit too contained for the size. The pronounced acidity in the opening could have been more composed, yet it does not compromise either the opening or the rest of the smoke.
