It is sold in 25 pieces wooden boxes, packed into a nice extra carton box, and represents one of the most fascinating Regional Edition released by Habanos S.A:. Collectors immediately took proper actions, and these cigars showed a major prices increase in few months. Currently the single cigar price varies between 50€-60€. Real problem is however the availability.
It shows an oily colorado maduro wrapper, and it is manufactured with care. Head is not flat but rather tapered, because the 109 vitola, and this aspect provides the giant cigar a more refined outlook.
Smoking notes.
Diplomatico Bushido: before lighting the cigar up rich earthy notes can be pointed out. Opening is light, giving off cedar wood and vanilla notes. In the background light, very subtle spicy notes are present.
The first tercio continues on cedar wood notes, becoming more intense. Smoke is elegant, with roasted and vanilla hints in the background. Medium-bodied (3,5/5).
The second tercio is still characterized by the presence of cedar wood, now paired by citrus aromas. The vanilla taste is still present in the background, while spicy notes becomes more evident, but still not in a first place. Aromas intensity increases and after-puff persistency is prolonged. Strength has no variations.
The third tercio alternates nuttiness (walnut), earth and wood. Vanilla and spices are still present, increasing the aromas palette depth. Body slightly increases, becoming slightly more than medium (3,5/5).
Globally a smoke in accordance with the Diplomatico brand, yet with an increased finesse and elegance. Aromas intensity is good and balance is not jeopardized, from the first to the last puff. The Bushido is a cigar ready to be enjoyed and can be acknowledged as one of the best Cuban Asian Regional Editions with no hesitation.
