TASTING NOTES DARROZE GRANDS ASSEMBLAGES 8YO
Nose
good intensity. Prune liqueur, followed by caramel covered digestive biscuits and pine needles The base is earthy, with a little youthful edge. Feels rather close to the raw materials.
Palate
good body. More prunes, pear lemonade and honey. Then, the digestive biscuits, earth and pine notes reappear, with liquorice in the back. Good mouthfeel and freshness.
Finish
medium long. Somewhat dry, with notes of liquorice, light wood and spice.
Overall, this Darroze Grands Assemblages 8 YO is a simple and honest Bas-Armagnac. It is well made, on par with most entry-level malts.
