Today we talk about a blended malt, a mix of whiskies produced by different distilleries. Compass Box for years offers this kind of products, with unique features. Flaming Heart is composed of malts from Caol Ila, Clynelish, Teaninich and Dailuaine.

TASTING NOTES COMPASS BOX FLAMING HEART
Nose: Caol Ila is very obvious. Medicinal and iodized character. It is then the turn of black pepper, pungent. Soave notes of wax and incense, presumably attributable to Clynelish. Peat emerges after several minutes, which is rather contained.
Palate: mineral, almost sparkling. The peated character of Caol Ila emerges, but not too much, in the background. It continues with notes of wax and yellow fruits: apple, pineapple, banana and mango. Tropical fruits. Peat is present, but not evident. The spices evolve continuously, they also increase in strength after a few moments.
Finish: medium with light peat, white pepper and cereals.
This Flaming Heart is a good product that deserves attention. The character is solid even if not all components are well balanced: nose and finish seem to show some imperfections.
