Bolivar Royal Corona

Bolivar Royal Corona

Bolivar Royal Corona 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Bolivar Royal Corona is one of the best known cigars among Cuban Robustos. Produced since the late 1960s, it is packaged in 25-count Semi Plain boxes, while the 10-count version has the cigars in Tubos.

Bolivar Royal Corona

The cigar is presented rolled in a bright Colorado wrapper, with red reflections. It is quite smooth to the touch, with moderately pronounced veins. The shape of the cigar is slightly box pressed in the 25-count box. Filling and draw are optimal. Good crafsmanship.

Bolivar Royal Corona

Bolivar Royal Corona: the cold draw presents well-defined aromas of wood and spices, as well as earthy nuances.

Bolivar Royal Corona

Once lit, the cigar is decidedly sapid on the palate. The flavor profile is characterized by powerful notes of black pepper and wood, as well as a well-defined minerality. Strength is medium (3/5).

In the central section the sapidity remains unchanged. Alongside the woody note, there is also an earthy note present. A less pronounced spicy tone and a cocoa nuance follow. Strength becomes medium-full (4/5).

In the final third, next to the sapidity, a bitter taste emerges. The flavor profile is always dominated by wood, with less marked tones of nuts and a metallic hint. Strength remains unchanged (4/5).

Ultimately, the Bolivar Royal Corona is a full-bodied smoke. It expresses well pronounced flavors and even the evolution is appreciable. Unfortunately, the last third becomes bitter and together with the metallic note, it leaves an unpleasent finish on the palate. However, a rest period in the humidor should take care of that.
